Mamta Kulkarni on the cover of Stardust: She was the reigning sex symbol of the 1990’s who became the talk of the town and gained popularity when she appeared on the cover of Stardust film magazine with her arms across her breasts in the September issue of 1993. While the film magazine was lapped up like hot cakes, the actress had to face legal action from the Indian court of law apart from the pressure that was put by various moral police groups. But Mamta wasn’t one who was going to take anything lying down. She gave as good as she got and called everyone concerned a hypocrite. Finally Mamta Kulkarni had to shell out Rs 15000 after she was convicted in July 2000. Till today her picture on the covers has been treated as one of the most sensational things to have happened in the Indian film industry.

Milind Soman and Madhu Sapre in Tuff ad campaign:

This was the first time that model Madhu Sapre posed nude but it wasn’t something new for supermodel Milind Soman who had taken off his clothes in front of the camera a few times before the Tuff shoe ad campaign in July 1995. With only a thick skinned python separating their bare bodies, Milind and Madhu who happened to be dating during that period had no issues getting close for comfort.

It didn’t take long for the ad to fall into deep trouble and with the Shiv Sena protesting loud and hard the court was forced to ban the ad campaign on the whole. The posters and hoardings of the ad too were not spared and were all taken down. It certainly wasn’t a happy ending for Milind and Madhu Sapre.

Pooja Bhatt spray paints body and smooches Mahesh Bhatt:

Demi Moore was the original diva from Hollywood who painted herself nude to appear on a magazine cover. And then our very own Pooja Bhatt got inspired by Moore and compromised herself and her body to allow herself to be spray-painted for a similar look and get-up for an Indian magazine. The only glaring difference being that unlike Demi Moore, Pooja Bhatt wasn’t nine months pregnant. The whole act was possible after Pooja sat through four hours of spray painting.

Not only did Pooja create a stir with her bare body painting, she also shocked one and all when she smooched her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt for a magazine cover. Pooja Bhatt rewrote the relationship between a father and a daughter in that one moment between the two of them.

Mallika Sherawat in Kis Kis Ki Kismat: Controversy has forever dogged Mallika Sherawat wherever she went. Be it for her acts in films (kissing Himanshu Malik 17 times in Khwahish or getting cozy with Emraan Hashmi in Murder ) or for her publicity stunts that she so effectively executes during the release of her films. Kis Kis Ki Kismat was no different except that it was a photograph that caused such uproar in Bollywood. Wearing a bright red dress that hits you right in the eye, Mallika was so engrossed during the photo-shoot that the actress did not notice that her white panties were being filmed at the same time. Whether it was something that happened by chance or whether Mallika had strategically done it to garner publicity for the film by recreating a Marilyn Monroe pose, we’ll never know but she surely did a good job of it.

Neha Dhupia goes backless in Julie

The photograph itself seems to be suggesting that Neha Dhupia wasn’t entirely comfortable posing for the movie poster. But she had no choice as Neha had already signed a contract with director of Julie , Deepak Shivdasani and producer Bablu Pachisia which stated that Neha would in no way have any kind of objection to posing in skimpy shootings for the promotion and the shooting of the movie. The director-producer duo took this step after they witnessed Shashilal K Nair’s film Ek Chotisi Love Story falling into trouble after lead actress Manisha Koirala accused Nair of using a body double for a few nude shots in the film.

But Neha Dhupia seemed to have no problems signing on the dotted line for Julie and to give this exotic shot as well.



Shilpa Shetty & Reema Sen’s obscene pictures:

At times controversies come uncalled for or perhaps when you are expecting the least. That happened to actresses Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen who were blamed of corrupting young minds when some of their pictures appeared in ‘Tamil Murasu’, a regional newspaper. While the pictures were quite passable considering Bollywood standards of recent times, an advocate from South alleged that the paper included obscene photographs of the two actresses which were apparently ‘sexy blow ups’ and ‘mediocre posters’ in their own right. Although the photographs were printed in the newspaper last December and January, the petitioner claimed that the content contained violent and harmful material not suitable for readers.

Both Shilpa and Reema did not give the trivial issue undue importance and let time take its own course. This one was passed off as a case where the accuser tried to create a controversy and gain some publicity for himself.

Neha Dhupia’s poster in film Utthan:

Neha Dhupia has done bold films and bolder scenes in those films as well but Neha may never have prepared herself for what befell her while filming the now unknown movie Utthan which was to be produced by acclaimed playback singer Kumar Sanu. The film had Neha Dhupia and her Julie co-star Priyanshu Chatterjee in lead roles but what was disturbing were the posters of the film which saw Neha exposing much more flesh than what was necessary.

Neha later distanced herself from the film and its publicity that was more than understandable. The film today has been lost in pages


Shamita Shetty sans underwear

Shamita, the little sister of Shilpa Shetty, has always lived under her sister’s shadow until her picture was splashed all over the media for all the wrong reasons. In an event organized by the Bhatts in Mumbai she was clicked by the paparazzi in a wrong pose. Was this her ‘Basic Instinct’?

The photograph in itself speaks so many things that we find ourselves at a loss of words to describe. But she did give the shutterbugs at the event a lot to look forward to as well as to click.




Mandira Bedi flagged:

Mandira Bedi always came across as a cricket crazy fan but this time she took her frenzy for the game a bit too far when she hosted a cricket show during the 2006 cricket World Cup wearing a sari that sported the Indian tricolor in the wrong way. Our country has now made it legal to wear the Indian flag on any clothing but much to Mandira’s dismay the flag on her sari was below the waist. In fact it was very close to her feet which is what infuriated fans and officials alike.

Mandira has courted controversies earlier too when once she depicted a religious tattoo and then on another occasion the television anchor wore a sari that showed ample cleavage. What made this offence even more sad was that Mandira Bedi had the flag of Pakistan on her bare right shoulder.

Shatrughan Sinha’s family furious

Actor Shatrughan Sinha is furious with singer Kumar Sanu and Rakesh Bhhatia who happen to be the producers of the film ‘Yeh Sunday Kyun Aata Hai’. The movie is all set to have its music released today, and the Sinha family was to grace the occasion, or so we were told.

However, Shatru and family have now completely backed out of gracing the occasion. They maintained that their name was wrongly used to attract the media and that they actually weren’t even invited formally for the function.

The film’s PRO, Peter Martis told us, “The producers assumed that Shatrughan and family will be present at the music launch... However, the Sinhas have categorically stated that they won’t be attending the event.”

Shatrughan Sinha felt that his name was wrongly used to allure the media and is now fuming, as Kashmera Shah, four shoe-shine boys, Kumar Sanu and Yashpal Sharma get ready for their big evening!

Madhuri Dixit continues to rule the hearts of millions. The actress who never got too close to many people from the film industry in her illustrious Bollywood career, has got very pally with none other than Preity Zinta, we hear. Preity just got back to Mumbai from the US, but according to what we hear the actress had a ball of a time with Madhuri Dixit Nene when in America. “When Madhuri learnt about Priety’s Los Angeles visit, she personally called her over to her home. Preity was touched by Madhuri’s gesture and was happy to accept the invitation” revealed our source. “Madhuri and Preity have always kicked it off well whenever they have met at social dos - be it the Slumdog Millionaire premiere in Mumbai or various such events. Preity is probably the only actress who has managed to stay close to other leading actresses like Ash, Katrina or now Madhuri without having any ego clashes,” revealed an industry insider. Next time we bump into Preity we would love to know how she spent time at Madhuri’s house. Both actresses have dazzling smiles that can light up any dark room... We’re sure Denver was brighter that day!

Ajith and Trisha in Tudor period

The latest talk of the town is a birthday bash that was very unique and innovative. On of the city’s top designer Sidney Sladen held a big birthday celebration on November 21 at Hotel Taj Coromandel. The designer had organized a theme party and had guests to be dressed like royalties from the Tudor period of Britain.

Birthday boy Sidney came dressed as King Henry VIII and his buddy Trisha was dressed as Queen Mary. The list of the guest was long and lovely to see that included Ajith and his wife Shalini who seldom attends parties.

One was able to see those luxurious colourful Tudor Ballroom gowns and cloaks worn by the guests. Trisha’s mom Uma, Lakshmi, Ramya, Vinaya, Priya, Lalasa, Sangeetha, Aparna Pillai, Sona, Srikanth-Vandana, Ram Kumar, K S Ravi Kumar, Shaji, Krithika Stalin, Gireesh-Sakthi, Shaam, Karun Raman, Devadarshini, RJ Balaji, Hema Sethuram, Venket Ram and Designer Vivek Karunakaran were among other celeb guests.

Arya2 - Movie Review

Arya 2 is basically a story of 3 people Ajay (Navadeep), Arya (Bunny) and Geetha (Kajal). Movie starts with a hospital scene with Arya on the stretcher and Ajay running behind him. Ajay Narrates the story of the past.
Ajay and Arya are orphans growing at an orphanage. Arya has joined recently and waiting to make a friend. Then he gets a thought on whom to make a friend. he places bubble gum on the steps of the school and watches it, he waits for someone to step on it to make his friend. Ajay steps and he makes him a friend. Ajay disagree with him for becoming friends and he asks a question "you didn’t helped me and how can we be friends" Then Arya push him into the water and saves him. This is how their friendship starts. Ajay has no other option to accept his friendship further.
Ajay was adopted by a rich family after sometime from orphanage and Arya sacrifies it for Ajay. Ajay and Arya grew up and Ajay becomes CEO of Software company. When Ajay attacked by goons on the road, he informs to Arya and as everyone expect, here the hero will make them go to hospital and Arya joins Ajay’s company as a software engineer and story goes with some comedy with Brahmanandam as HR. Kajal entrance with Ajay is on a road. Ajay gives lift in his car to Kajal and she fortunately joins the Ajay’s company. Arya starts loving Kajal after seeing her entering into the office and there starts the friendly clash between Ajay and Arya.
As always Ajay dont like arya and he tries to cheat and make Geetha (kajal) love him and he succeeds. From here the story enters into regular Rayalaseema Faction. Raji Reddy father of Geetha belong to Kurnool takes her daughter back to village to get her marry with his rivals son. Ajay sends arya to get her back to city. Arya goes here and marries Kajal. A lot of comedy you can expect here with some good action scenes from Bunny.
At the end Ajay sacrifies Geetha to Arya after arya get injured to stop argument between Ajay and Raji Reddy. You can enjoy the movie with family, no vulgarity. You can expect a good comedy from this movie.

ബിഗ്ബിയുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളായി അഭിഷേകും വിദ്യയും

സ്വന്തം മക്കളുടെ അച്ഛനായി അഭിനയിക്കുന്നതും തന്നേക്കാള്‍ പ്രായമായ നായകന്റെയും നായികയുടെയും അമ്മമാരായി അഭിനയിക്കുന്നതുമൊന്നും വെള്ളിത്തിരയില്‍ പുതിയ കാര്യമല്ല.
എന്നാല്‍ സ്വന്തം പിതാവിനോളം പ്രായമുള്ള താരരാജാവിന്റെ അമ്മയായി അഭിനയിക്കുകയെന്നത് പല നടിമാര്‍ക്കും അപൂര്‍വ്വമായി കിട്ടുന്ന ഭാഗ്യമാണ്.
പാ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ വിദ്യ ആ ഭാഗ്യം സിദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സാക്ഷാല്‍ ബിഗ് ബിയുടെ അമ്മയാകാന്‍. ഈ അപൂര്‍വ്വാവസരം തനിക്ക് തന്നെ കിട്ടിയതില്‍ ഏറെ സന്തോഷവതിയാണ് വിദ്യ.
എന്റെ കുട്ടികളോട് ഞാന്‍ അഭിമാനത്തോടെ പറയും അറുപത്തിയേഴുകാരനായ മെഗാസ്റ്റാര്‍ അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചനാണ് എന്റെ ആദ്യ പുത്രനെന്ന്- ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് വിദ്യ സന്തോഷം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.
ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ബിഗ് ബിയുടെ അച്ഛനാകുന്നത് മകന്‍ അഭിഷേകാണ്. എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും പ്രത്യേകതകള്‍ ഏറെയുള്ള ചിത്രമാണ് പാ.
ബച്ചന്റെ അമ്മയായി വേഷമിടുന്നത് സ്വപ്‌നതുല്യമായ കാര്യമാണ്. അഭിനയജീവിത്തില്‍ ഈ വേഷം എക്കാലത്തേയ്ക്കുമുള്ള ഒരു മുതല്‍ക്കൂട്ടാണ്-വിദ്യ സന്തോഷം മറച്ചുവയ്ക്കുന്നില്ല.
അച്ഛനും മകനും തമ്മിലുള്ള വൈകാരിക അടുപ്പത്തിന്റെ കഥപറയുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് പാ. ഒട്ടേറെ വൈകാരിക മുഹൂര്‍ത്തങ്ങള്‍ കോര്‍ത്തിണക്കിയിട്ടുള്ള ചിത്രത്തില്‍ 13 വയസ്സുള്ള ബാലനെയാണ് അമിതാഭ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.
ചെറുപ്പത്തില്‍ത്തന്നെ വാര്‍ദ്ധക്യത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍ കാണിക്കുന്ന പ്രൊഗേറിയ എന്ന അത്യപൂര്‍വ്വ ജനിതക രോഗം ബാധിച്ച ബാലനായാണ് ബിഗ് ബി എത്തുന്നത്. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ചലച്ചിത്രം ലോകം പായുടെ റിലീസിനായി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
ജയാ ബച്ചന്റെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തലോടെയായിരിക്കും പാ തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. കളിമണ്ണ് കൊണ്ടുള്ള മേക് അപ്പ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് അമിതാഭിന്റെ മുഖത്തിന് രൂപമാറ്റം വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ഷൂട്ടിങ് കഴിഞ്ഞ് മേക്കപ്പ് കഴുകിക്കളയണമെങ്കില്‍ രണ്ടുമണിക്കൂര്‍ എടുക്കും. മേക്ക് അപ്പ് രംഗത്ത് അന്തര്‍ദേശീയ തലത്തില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ട സ്റ്റീഫന്‍ ഡ്യൂപ്പസ് ആണ് ബച്ചന്റെ മേക് അപ്പ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Madhumitha says that her career is based on her upcoming Tamil film ’Yogi’. Madumitha, who did couple of roles before marriage is busy doing films after marriage also. The actress says that Yogi will earn her huge. She also deserves that she is not looking for a commercial hit. She is not interested to do small characters and is waiting for a big one.
