Kamasutra model Viveka Babajee Murder or Suicide?

Model Viveka Babajee, who shot to fame with the Kamasutra condom advertisement in the 1990s, committed suicide in her Continental Building flat in Bandra (W) on Friday night. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the hall, police said. ACP (west) Amitabh Gupta said the occupants of the neighboring flat alerted the fire brigade and police after they suspected a gas leak in her flat.The model stayed alone and police said the neighbors got no response when they rang the doorbell. Police did not confirm if a suicide note had been found, but it is learnt that Viveka, 37, was depressed after breaking up with her boyfriend, who runs an event management company.

Her ex-boyfriend, film director Rohit Jugtaj, can’t believe Viveka had killed herself. “She was a fighter; I don’t believe she was depressed. We split two years ago and weren’t in touch,” he said. Khar police collected her mobile phone, laptop and diary as part of the investigation. “Her mobile was switched off,’’ a police officer said. A former Miss Mauritius, Viveka came to Mumbai in the ’90s to work in Bollywood. She played the lead in Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat Hai.

‘Viveka had appeared composed’

A fashion industry source said, “She had disappeared from the fashion scene for some time and left the country. She returned to India last year and dabbled in fashion choreography and event management.’’ One of her friends who met her last week at a party said, “She appeared composed and had a good time and there was no sign of any depression.’’ Viveka’s close friend Shamita Singha who rushed to the model’s house after hearing of the suicide said, “ I am not in a position to talk and I also don’t know if there is any suicide note.’’

PAST SIMILAR CASES : In July 2004, model Nafisa Joseph hanged herself in her flat in Mumbai. Nafisa who was also a VJ was to marry businessman Gautam Khanduja but it was called off after she learnt that he was already married. He had told her that he had been divorced for two years. A year later, her friend and co-star in the television serial C.A.T.S, actress and model Kuljeet Randhawa also committed suicide .

Giigly Analysis: Hey guys, what you read above was just a copy from one of the leading newspapers. By the way, did you go through the line “alerted the fire brigade and police after they suspected a gas leak in her flat“ in the first paragraph? The Gas Cylinder was on when she died. Its tough to believe that Viveka kept the gas ON purposely so that her neighbors could suspect a gas leak and break into her house and find her dead body, before rot. People may believe that her break up might have depressed her a lot, but when I tell you that a series of break-ups is not anything new to Viveka, does that strike some chord in you ?

A news paper wrote:

A friend indicated that her Facebook status on June 11 suggested that she was about to take the extreme step. Her June 11 Facebook post said, “We come from dust and we go to dust.”  Was it professional stress, trouble in love life or loneliness that led to the sad end?

Well, isn’t it very easy to understand for many youngsters,whats this type of facebook/orkut/twitter by a recently post means by a recently heart broken (if really) girl? And that too, a girl who is in glamor world, where show off means anything and everything. Well she means, she is back in her ownself again, and it DOES NOT mean by anyway, an indication of suicide. PEOPLE WHO THINK and CAN THINK EVEN MORE THAN A FRACTION OF SECOND BEFORE COMMITTING SUICIDE, WILL GO ON THINKING FOREVER. and a person who preplans suicide such a long time ago, how come she doesn’t have a suicide note?

Here I would like to share a bit of Information from some Psychologists: Old men commit suicide most often. The number of older people who kill themselves is higher than the number of young people who commit suicide. Men are more likely to commit suicide, but women are more likely to talk about thoughts of suicide.

Well, I’m not an expert. I’m only trying to say that there are four major clusters of depressive symptoms; emotional, cognitive, motivational and somatic. Analysts need to actually inovate (read Discover) the percentage chances of each of these clusters, and also find if really the percentage was high enough in this case. More than that I (read We) also believe that in our country, we have certain departments of Intels, if given a promise “don’t worry about defamation, politics or security and wellbeing of family and money”, can dig up hundreds of alike unsolved cases that could have been solved, and can actually solve them in “just a matter of some time”. We just hope a perfect investigation. We people are very hopeful isn’t it ? God bless your soul Viveka.

Update 27th Jun (Sunday): A Khar police source revealed, based on evidence, that Babajee may have been inebriated before she committed suicide. A bottle of vodka and a glass were found in the kitchen, which was reeking of smoke and cooking gas, that had leaked. Police sources suggest that Babajee may have been trying to cook her last meal. Utensils were found on the gas and opened packets of masalas were lying on the floor. Police are also looking into the phone calls made by Babajee. They revealed that she made several calls to a particular number, which they are yet to trace.
