Save my husband from Nayantara: Ramlath

copied from www.cineguru.net
The media continues to harp upon the Nayanthara-Prabhu Deva romantic link-up. Reportedly, Nayantara came to Mumbai just to watch the premiere of Wanted (Hindi) with Prabhu Deva. "No comments" was the only comment from the duo when the media converged on them.
Prabhu Deva's wife Ramlath has opened her heart to a leading vernacular daily with a tearful message that she is already distressed by the death of her 12-year-old son Vishal due to cancer six months ago.
In her hard-hitting message, Ramalath said she would never allow her husband to marry another girl. “A husband is punished for a second marriage when his first wife is alive. I feel the second wife should be arrested when she tries to snatch a man who is already married.”
Admitting that she did pick a fight with Nayantara once over phone, Ramlath said she will give Nayantara a sound thrashing if they meet.
Expressing her anger at a leading actor who, in the garb of playing a mediator's role, is only helping the love to blossom, Ramlath said that the said actor should put his house in order first – clearly referring to his divorce case, now in the High Court.
“If Nayantara could throw Simbu out after being on the verge of marrying him, what is the guarantee that the same fate would not befall my simpleton husband,” says this mother of three.
In a pleading note, Ramlath has requested elders to intervene to solve this unsavoury episode which has rocked Kollywood.

Condom sales dip because of fewer dandiya nights

Cancellation of bashes due to swine flu scare affects business of medical stores by almost 50 per cent

It's that time of the year when people get out of their homes dressed in their colourful best and flaunt their dancing skills in the night. Dandiya nights during Navratri are not only known for their revelry but also for blind dating sessions among the youngsters. This year, however, a large number of dandiya bashes in the city have been cancelled because of the swine flu scare and consequently, resulted in a substantial drop in the sale of condoms.

No show
Bhushan Bhandari, assistant manager, Pancards Club said, "It's been a bad year. We have scheduled our dandiya bash for Sunday, but we are not getting too many enquiries. While we got nearly 30 calls every hour last year, this year, we've only got one. We've received confirmation from only 40 per cent of the capacity crowd so far."
Many organisers have restricted the celebrations for only one day instead of nine because of the poor response. Residency Club that attracted nearly 1500 people last year have cancelled their event this year.

Disappointed
Chemists in the city are disappointed at the not-so-happening dandiya nights. According to Vijay Chageria, secretary, Chemist Association of Pune, sale of condoms and contraceptive pills has dipped by 50 per cent compared to last year. Sandip Rathi, caretaker, Medical House said, "Last year, our condom sales was up byRs 6,000, but this year, the sales have yet to pick up."
Ajay Khandelwal, owner, Ajay Medical at Dhole Patil Road explained, "The sale of condoms has gone down by 25 per cent for us. Last year, it was up by 10 per cent. But we cannot complain because almost all businesses have been affected because of swine flu."

Mackenzie Phillips says she had sex with her dad

Los Angeles: Actress Mackenzie Phillips said in a memoir published on Wednesday that she had a decade-long incestuous affair with her father John Phillips, the late singer with 1960s band The Mamas & the Papas.
In the memoir "High On Arrival", which came out a year after she was arrested for cocaine possession, Phillips writes that she first had sex with her father at age 19, the night before her brief 1979 marriage to a member of the Rolling Stones` entourage.
The former star of TV sitcom "One Day at a Time" said she and her father used drugs that night. John Phillips died of heart failure in 2001.
"My father was not a man with boundaries," Phillips, 49, writes. "He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night to find myself having sex with my own father."
One of Phillips` four ex-wives cast doubt on her story, another said it was unfortunate that she went public, while her half-sister, pop singer Chynna Phillips, said she believed it.
"I mean, who in their right mind would make such a claim if it wasn`t true," Chynna Phillips told US Weekly.
But Chynna`s mother Michelle Phillips, the only surviving member of the Mamas and Papas, said in a statement that "whether her relationship ... is delusional or not," the public disclosure is "an unfortunate circumstance and very hurtful for our entire family."
In an interview with chat show host Oprah Winfrey that aired on Wednesday, Mackenzie Phillips said that late in her relationship with her father, she became pregnant and suspected that he might be the unborn baby`s dad.
"I had an abortion, and I never let him touch me again," she told Winfrey.
Winfrey on her show read a statement from Genevieve Waite, who was married to John Phillips during the time Mackenzie says she was having sex with him and cast doubts on her account.
"John was a good man who had the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction," Waite said in the statement. "He was incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, of having such a relationship with his own child."
On Winfrey`s show, Phillips also said she first tried cocaine at age 11, and that her father injected the drug into her arm for the first time when she was 16 or 17.
Late Wednesday, "High On Arrival" ranked at No 6 on online retailer Amazon.com`s list of bestselling books.
Phillips starred in "One Day at a Time" from 1975 to 1983 and has a long history of drug abuse. She was fired from the show at one point after undergoing drug rehabilitation but then relapsing.
Her marriage to Jeff Sessler, who moved in the same circles as the Rolling Stones, ended in 1981. She has married twice since then, and has appeared sparingly in TV dramas in recent years.
The Mamas & The Papas were one of the most popular bands of the 1960s, with hit songs such as "California Dreamin`" and "Monday, Monday."
