Gowtham’S One More Plan For ‘VTV’ Audio
Gowtham sings it loud now – ‘One for the London, One for the Chennai’ as he plans for a bigger strategy of promoting his upcoming flick ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’. The film has been churned out for a big cost in both Tamil and Telugu and the lavish audio launch in London have indeed exemplified it.Nonetheless, the Chennaites are little disappointed with the juncture not being hosted in Chennai. Naturally, this happens to be Rahman’s first Tamil project after his Oscar triumph. The latest we hear is that the album will hit the audio stores shortly by this weekend as Gowtham plans for one more audio launch in Chennai.When it comes to Telugu version, nothing has been revealed about the present status though Gowtham has planned to release the film simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.Looks like Gowtham Menon has planned to release the films as a Valentine’s Day treat for the young cohorts.

Kamal & Rahman honoured by Prime Minister
CNN-IBN Indian of the Year is the prime and the most plausible awards of the Country. The association is ready to respect and recognize the Indians whose endeavor stood tall in the year 2009.The CNN IBN Indian of the Year 2009 award was given to A R Rahman and Kamal Haasan by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh yesterday. According to the PTI report, Academy Award winner A R Rahman won over the Indian of the Year in the Entertainment category from Amitabh Bachchan. Big B was voted for doing the role of a 13-year-old in ‘Paa’, and entertaining the nation for forty years now. Kamal Haasan received the Special Achievement Award form the CNN-IBN team for completing 50 years in cinema.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh described A R Rahman's music as inspirational. “Rahman’s music is inspirational... When I heard Rahman in the White House, you cannot imagine the sense of joy and achievement...,” Singh said, after conferring the award in New Delhi.
"It is a triumph for music. I hope it inspires more people and lessens the divide," said the Oscar winning music maestro, who was also given an award for entertainment. He said “lessening the divide” through music was his intention.
When asked what was it about his music that wowed the world Rahman said, "I don't know. I think the philosophy of music playing larger role, being selective and blessings of God."
The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. Praising the maestro, the Prime Minister called him an "inspirational genius", saying "There is only one Panditji and he has been a role model and will be a role model".
Priyamani says reducing dress is not vulgar
Priyamani while speaking to the media said,” Many are asking me why I am acting in glamour roles wearing bikini dress. All mixed together is acting. You cannot tell it is vulgar if one reduces the dress.If you wear modern dress, this itself is glamour. Right from Aishwarya Rai to Bipasha had acted wearing swim suits. If I act in glamour roles, people are asking that why I am not acting in village roles.
In those days popular actresses like Saroja Devi to Padmini have acted in glamour and village roles. Characters will be according to the story. I can do any kind of role. The Tamil film Nadodigal is being remade in Telugu with the title Sambo Siva Sambo.
I am acting in three Telugu films including this one. I am also acting in one Kannada film.”
Murugadoss says he will not direct remake films
A R Murugadoss while interacting with the media said,” In Tamil I am directing a film produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. The title is yet to be finalized. The shooting of this film will commence by end of February.Surya is doing the lead role in this film. There was news that I will be directing the remake of the Telugu film Kick. There is no truth in this. I have not seen the film Kick. I have no idea of directing remake films. After completing Surya’s film I will be directing a Hindi film written by me.
The popular actor in Bollywood is doing the lead role. I have not started the pre production work for this. I will be producing films to give opportunity for new directors. Announcement regarding this will be made shortly. There is also no truth in the news that Katrina Kaif will be acting in Surya’s film.
An actress who is well versed in Tamil is required for this film. So the selection for a new face is going on. This film is an action film and the backdrop of this film will be new to Tamil cinema.”
Swetha Basu in Tamil film
Sri Venkateswara Swami Films and T 5 Entertainment are producing the film titled Oru Mutham Oru Uttham. Selvam who directed the film Rameswaram which had Jeeva and Bhavana in the lead role is directing this film.Udhay Kiran is doing the lead role. Swetha Basu who had earlier acted in Hindi and Telugu films is pairing with Udhay Kiran. This film is being made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. Director Selvam while speaking about this film said,” This film is about the romance that takes in a family.
Apart from this we are telling about a protest. If you ask what the protest is, it is suspense for time being. This film will be different from other love story films.”
Vijay thanks Kalanidhi Maaran
Since the film Vettaikaran became a great hit, Vijay thanked the Sun Group President Kalanidhi Maaran. Sun Pictures has released the film Vettaikaran. Vijay and Anushka have done the lead roles.The film was released last Friday and is doing well at the box office with the support of his fans throughout Tamil Nadu. So Vijay along with his father S A Chandrasekaran came to Sun TV office. He met Kalanidhi Maaran and gave him a bouquet and thanked him.
His father adorned him with a shawl. Vijay then speaking to the media said,’ Of all the films I have acted, this film has given a very big opening. The credit goes to Sun Pictures. I have thanked Kalanidhi because of this. After Vettaikaran I am acting in Sura now.”
