Cops arrest 3 people following raid on Loni Kalbhor lodge; hunt on for kingpin
A Bhojpuri model-actor was among six women rescued from the flesh trade by the Pune Rural police following a raid on a lodge in Loni Kalbhor on Sunday evening. The police arrested three people. Two of the arrested peopel were agents and the third was the lodge manager.
The three were identified as Sitara Rashiram Pathak (36), Shanti Laxman Giri(20), both agents, and Govind Lature (28), the manager. The police are looking for the kingpin of the racket, identified as Ajay Patil. "Pathak and Giri had lured the women into prostitution. They and Lature have been booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) Sections 3, 4, 5," said Police Inspector Suhas Garud.
Police officials said three of the six rescued were graduates, while the others were school dropouts. One of the women revealed she had acted in several Bhojpuri TV serials, before coming to the city, said the police.
All the women had come to the state in search of jobs and were cheated. "The women were working in dance bars and were compelled to shift to the flesh trade after several bars in Mumbai shut down. They were living in Kalyaninagar and were operating in Pune city and rural area. They confessed they were engaged in prostitution for the last three years and had come in contact with the Kalyaninagar-based agents," said Garud.

"The airhostess was driving her car rashly on the busy Chincholi Bunder Road when she allegedly hit an auto rickshaw. Instead of apologising, she verbally abused the rickshaw driver, and kicked up a commotion on the road," said RTO police inspector Muley, one of the traffic cops who reached the spot.
A police officer from Bangur Nagar said, "While the girl was quarrelling with the rickshaw driver, a beat police marshal saw her and tried to intervene. But she retaliated by abusing the policeman. To control the situation, the marshal called a female police officer to the spot, but Lima abused her as well."
Lima was accompanied by two male friends, one of whom was her boyfriend Rakhil Shaswat.
Shaswat and Lima were arrested on charges of drunken driving and abusing cops on duty.
There was a third person in the car, but he fled before the cops hauled them up. The arrested will be produced at court today.

Rima Kallingal- Under pressure
After Nithya Menon, now Rima Kallingal is being targeted by film directors body FEFKA.
Remember, a few days back the producers body had arbitrarily banned Nithya Menon because she did not meet a producer!
Now the latest is that director Siby Malayil has alleged that the climax shoot of his new film Unnam in Kochi on Saturday had to be cancelled because Rima went away to Thiruvananthapuram for a private function!
Rima however had made it clear that it was a communication error. She had given dates to the film only up to Sep 30, and had commited October 1st for a private function. It was communicated to the production manager of Unnam as per the industry norm but he forgot to tell the director!
Many believe Rima is being targeted by the powerful male dominated Malayalam film industry for tweeting support for Nithya Menen. Rima had tweeted - “I believe we live in a free and democratic country where we can decide whom, when, how, why and where to meet anyone. So
does Nithya Menen”.
B Unnikrishnan of FEFKA has referred the matter to the artists association AMMA. Idavela Babu AMMA Secretary said: “ We will look into the matter . Rima had made it clear that she has another commitment on Oct 1, and had informed the production manager. “
Meanwhile Rima Kallingal the professional that she is has re-joined the shoot of Unnam. All’s well that ends well.

Indian Rupee censored, release on Oct 6
August Cinemas Prithviraj’s Ranjith directed Indian Rupee has been censored and passed with a clean ‘U’ certificate by Thiruvananthapuram censors.
The film has Prithviraj, Thilakan and Rima Kallingal in important roles.
Indian Rupee is a very important film for Prithviraj as his last Onam release Teja Bhai & Family was a failure. Prithviraj requires a solo hit to establish that he is once again a saleable star at the
box-office.
Ranjith’s Indian Rupee should deliver the goods for Prithvi, as it carries very good pre-release reports and is said to be a “well-made entertainer, which will make you think.”
August Cinema is releasing Indian Rupee in 70 screens on Vijayadasmi day, Thursday (October 6).
