Deepika's native is Karnataka. She started her career as a model. Now, she is very famous due to her key success in Om Shanti Om with the King Khan.
This is a part of her old interview that she gave when she signed for the same movie.
"I was introduced to the film industry in the kannada movie ‘Aishwarya'. In hindi ‘Om Shanthi Om' is my first movie. I consider acting with Sharukh Khan in my first movie as my strength. This movie has been picturised in the 1970 style.In this movie an south Indian actress comes to Hindi film industry to act, and she becomes a super star. I am acting in that role.
Since I am an south Indian actress this role suits me well. I am getting a lot of offers from bollywood. I am going to act in a Yash Chopra production too soon. There is a lot of rumors that I am in dating hindi actor ranbir kapoor. I've trained to distance myself from such rumors as soon as I joined the film industry.
My father is my trainer. My family trusts me completely. I will not dissappoint them". - Said Deepika while doing her debut in Hindi.i.

Touchdown! Serena Williams lends some glamour to beach football in green lace bikini

A knee injury may have kept her off the court of late, but Serena Williams still looked in fantastic shape while on holiday in Miami yesterday.
The tennis star, who spent the day on the beach, was spotted playing American football in the surf with a group of friends.
And despite the down-time, she did not disappoint in the style stakes. The 28-year-old wore a bright green bikini with black lace trim, and, bizarrely given the situation, a co-ordinating black lace glove. The look was completed by chandelier earrings.

It is not the first statement swimwear she has been seen wearing lately. Only last week she was seen soaking up the Florida sun in a geometric-print cut-out swimsuit.
She had been celebrating after winning the 2009 WTA Tour Player of the Year award, as well as the Doubles Team Of The Year award with her sister.

'It’s exciting because I don’t think we’ve won the Doubles Team of the Year award before,' Serena said.
'I won the daily double today and that was cool.'
Five-time Sony Ericsson Open champion Serena is currently in Miami to support Venus, who is set to take on Kim Clijsters in the tournament final today.

While in the city she has been enjoying her time off the court, joining Miss America  Caressa Cameron to support former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland at her ‘I Heart My Girlfriends’ charity event.
Whether Serena will have recovered from her injury in time for the Italian Open remains to be seen, but it is believed that a wild card spot will be held open for her.

Abbey Clancy enjoys the frills and spills in bejewelled bikini as she hits beach with her mother

After slumming it across the Indian desert recently, Abbey Clancy is back in the lap of luxury on a sunshine break.
The 24-year-old WAG hit the beach in Dubai yesterday with her lookalike mother Karen, who also accompanied her daughter on the arduous nine-day trip.
Abbey, the fiancée of England footballer Peter Crouch, looked stunning in a frilly peach bikini complete with a bejewelled top half which barely contained her curves.

The blonde showed off her svelte figure as she frolicked in the sea - and the results of her 5lb weight loss after her trek across the Thar Desert with a family of gypsy dancers.
She shed the weight, amazingly, on a diet of curry as she filmed a new TV show, to be screened on ITV2 next week.
Abbey whiled the day away by taking dips in the sea and relaxing on the sun lounger and certainly looked relieved to be getting back to her pampered lifestyle.

She and her mother, who are staying at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, teamed their bikini looks with hats and tried each other's on for size as they chilled on the beach.
Speaking about her recent trip to India, and subsequent weight loss, Abbey said: 'All we ate was curry,' she said.
 
'We would have curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
'After a few days, we were craving it and couldn't wait for our brekkie. I lost 5lb. I was 8st 7lb before I left.'

'I was also eating so much bread, but I didn't have any sweets or chocolate. At home I have to have a dessert every night - cheesecake or chocolate pudding.'


On the trip, Abbey swapped her luxury WAG lifestyle of limousines and designer clothes for a life of sleeping on the ground, riding on camels and eating food cooked on a dung fire.
Her fiancé Peter Crouch remained at home while Abbey and her lookalike mother Karen filmed for ITV's new show The Parent Trip.

Family Albump: The mothers-to-be queuing up to 'do a Demi'... but would you dare to hang it in the living room?

When Demi Moore posed naked and heavily pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991, the pictures provoked fierce debate, shocking some but delighting many.
Now, nearly 20 years on, it seems Annie Leibovitz’s iconic photographs have changed the acceptable face of motherhood.
Expectant mothers all over Britain are following in the footsteps of Moore and having their own ‘baby-bump’ pictures to proudly display in their homes.

Mothers-to-be have also been inspired by celebrities such as singers Myleene Klass and  Christina Aguilera, along with actress Monica Bellucci, who have all posed with their baby bumps.
Moore said her famous photoshoot gave women ‘a little bit more permission to feel sexy and attractive when you’re pregnant’. And  young mothers obviously agree.
Take Lisa Mumford, 25, from Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. She said: ‘I felt very comfortable, not exposed at all when I posed.
I just wanted a picture of me at the last hurdle, so I went two weeks before I was due.

It just felt like a natural thing to do.’ The picture hangs in her living room and she plans to surround it with images of her son Charlie at different stages of his life.
‘I am so proud of it,’ she said. ‘And everyone says I look amazing. Everyone commented on how glowing I was and I think that comes through in the picture.
'I couldn’t wait to have it done. It’s just such a natural image, a mother holding her baby bump. Every time I look at it, I smile.’
Such pictures don’t come cheap – it costs parents in Britain an average of £1,000 to include a baby in the family album before it is even born.

But Amanda Pye, 28, from Blackburn, Lancashire, believes it is money well spent. She has four children and was inspired to have the images done because her fourth pregnancy was very different from the earlier ones.
She said: ‘I didn’t allow any pictures during my other pregnancies. I just felt so fat and horrible and had no confidence.
‘But this time, I exercised right through and only put on a small amount of weight. I wanted to show off my pregnancy body, not shy away from it. I was about 30 weeks gone when the shoot took place.
‘I had some pictures taken with my family and my husband Steve but I was determined to have one with my clothes off as well, to really show off the bump.

‘I regret not doing it with the others. I’ve hung it in my bedroom but I’ve also put some on Facebook and everyone has been so lovely, saying how brave I was and how amazing I looked.’
Hazel Martin, 35, from Derby, had her pictures taken as a surprise Christmas present for her husband Lee. The couple had tried for five years to have a baby and she said:
‘After trying for so long, I was just so thrilled to be pregnant and I felt so fantastic throughout I didn’t want it to end. I wanted a memento to reflect that and just how wonderful it was.
‘I had a whole load of outfits with me but did the naked shot as well. When it came to choosing them, I knew it was the naked image I wanted. Every time I look at it I’m just like, “Oh my God, look at me, I’m pregnant’’ and Lee loves it.
‘My baby Rowan is one now and when he is old enough I will definitely point it out to him and tell him that he was inside the bump.’
Mark Wilson, managing director of nationwide portrait photography business Venture Photography, said:
‘This craze started ten years ago but has taken off over the past five – so much so that we have introduced it into our portfolio as a separate category. It now accounts for ten per cent of our sessions.’
