Malavika is a Bangalore born model and actress.She has done movies in both Tamil and Bollywood. She was born on 19th July 1979 and grew up as a typical Bangalore girl.
Malavika loved acting and modeling even when she was a little girl and she don't wanted to miss any chances in life that could get her into the movie and modeling world.
She started off her career with modeling and she has done modeling for brands like fair and lovely.
She started her movie career in Tamil and her first film was ‘Unnai Thedi'. This movie which featured Ajith in the lead role was directed by Sunder. This movie went on to become one of the major Tamil hits of that year and it was clear that Malavika has made a tremendous start to her movie career.
Soon after her 1999 hit debut movie, she signed another one in Tamil named ‘Anandha Poongatre'. This was a multi starred movie which featured popular stars like Ajith, Karthik and Meena. Malavika was lucky enough and her second film also went on to become a major success. Although this was a multi starred movie and featured many top actors of the south industry, her performance was well noted and she soon had her name put into the list of top heroines of the industry.
In the same year she delivered one more hit movie in the form of ‘Rojavanam' and three hits in a row helped her set her foot strongly in Tamil soil and many considered her a budding goddess back then.
Malavika enjoyed great success in the early part of her career but after those three hit films she kind of lost the momentum and failed to iterate that magic again.During this period Malavika has done a movie in Telugu named ‘Priya Nestama', but she did not find big success in there either. She returned to Tamil and signed many movies in desperation. She signed for a song in ‘Perazhagan', ‘Vasool Raja MBBS' alongside Kamal Haasan and also a Bollywood movie called Cuat9. Recently she appeared in the Rajnikanth movie ‘Chandramukhi'. But the turnaround in her career happened when she did an item number ‘Chithiram Pesuthadi'. The song ‘Vazha Meenukum' in that movie was a huge hit and she was flooded with offers. Her role in ‘Thiruttu Payale' cemented her place in the industry.
Although Malavika got married recently, it hasn't tarnished her glamour image at all, and she is very much in demand today.
Her personal interests are modeling and singing. She is standing 5'3 and she can speak Hindi, English, Kannada and Tamil.
