Float like a butterfly, sting like a Bea: Princess put through her paces as she trains for London marathon
Two years ago, when she was pictured with a few wobbly bits, her mother had to jump to her defence.
Today, Princess Beatrice seems ready to fight her battles herself.
The young royal donned pink boxing gloves for an energetic workout in the capital’s Green Park, as part of her training for the London marathon in April.
University student Beatrice, 21, admitted she was driven to tone up after seeing the pictures of herself in a bikini in 2008.
She said she was was ‘terribly upset’ by the public’s reaction, but added: ‘I could probably do with losing the odd pound.’
'I thought people were a bit mean, although I know it comes with the territory.
'The trouble is, I don't have much confidence so it can be quite upsetting. I could probably do with losing the odd pound, though, so perhaps it is the kick I need.'
In July last year the Princess dazzled onlookers when she showed off a new slimline figure while attending a charity dinner.
She looked sensational in her £269 brilliant red Marc Jacobs dress, showing off her tiny waist with a large black patent belt.

Flat out? Bea takes a breather
She said: 'It was such an unflattering bikini and I've got one that's so much nicer, so I could have kicked myself for wearing it,' she said. 'I thought people were a bit mean, although I know it comes with the territory.

Dancing On Ice: Heather Mills sent home as star skater Hayley Tamaddon is left in tears after dramatic fall mid-performance
She managed to stay in contest for five weeks, but last night Heather Mills's luck ran out on Dancing On Ice.
The ex of Sir Paul McCartney was sent packing after coming in the bottom two alongside Hollyoaks bad boy Kieron Richardson.
Only one judge, Nicky Slater, voted to save Heather, 42, while the other four chose to save Kieron after the skate-off.
Before she made her lap of honour, Heather couldn't resist making a smutty joke, pointing at her bust as host Phillip Schofield said it was time to look at her 'best bits'.
But after the video clip of her time on the ITV show was played, Heather made a dignified final bow saying she was surprised she had lasted so long in the contest.
She thanked her dance partner Matt Evers and the behind the scenes team who had helped her with her prosthetic skating leg.
Her exit came on a night of hight drama which saw Hayley Tamaddon reduced to a quivering wreck after she was dramatically dropped on her head mid-performance.

He told her: 'What a difference a week can make. I actually saw in places there was some real grace.'
But he then told her: 'The problem is your upper body. You need to learn to extend beyond yourself, even though you are rather large.'

As the audience gasped, he continued: 'Well you need to pull it back. You're sticking it out.'

Mani Rathnam's Raavana in July
The wait seems to be over now; we are talking about Mani Rathnam's Raavana/ Raavan. There is no need of any introduction when it come to Mani Rathnam, because his very name pulls crowds to theatres. The veteran director is currently busy with his big budget bilingual tentatively titled Raavana in Tamil and Raavan in Hindi.
Earlier, there were reports that a 90-second teaser of the Hindi version would be launched soon. Now, the latest we hear is that the film will grace theatres in July; the director plans to release the film simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Sources add that the ace director is working overtime to finish the film by July. However, Mani decided to re-shoot a couple scenes he was not too satisfied with. With the re-shoot, Mani now feels that Raavana has come out very well.
Raavana, said to be the modern adaptation of the epic Ramayana, revolves around Raavana, the ruler of Lanka, who kidnapped Sita. The story culminates with Sita supporting Raavana instead of Rama, who suspects her chastity after having spent so much time in Raavana’s custody.
Vikram plays the villain. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are the lead pair in Hindi, while Vikram will play the lead opposite Aishwarya in Tamil. Music is by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman . Raavana is produced by Mani Rathnam's sister Sharda under Rathnam's banner Madras Talkies.
