Nashik, Dec 10 : Theatre owner and film distributor Balasaheb alias Padmakar Damodhar Chumbale allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence here early today.
According to family sources, 76-year-old Balasaheb was suffering from various illness and was depressed on this count.
Apart from Marathi film industry, Balasaheb was associated with various social organisations in the city. In 1963, he established Lion International Organisation.
He was also the president of the Nashik Cultural Association.
Chumbale is survived by wife and two daughters.
