Shamed Vernon Kay takes short cut home to face the music (but glamour model at centre of sex text scandal enjoys her new-found fame)

After opening his radio show with a public apology over his sex text scandal yesterday, Vernon Kay appeared to be in a desperate rush to get home to wife Tess Daly.
The shamed presenter made a run for it after jumping out of a taxi  -  on the hard shoulder of the M40.
Vernon dashed over the motorway barrier, running up the embankment and climbing through a hedge row, before heading down a path that leads to his Buckinghamshire mansion.

The 35-year-old's bizarre behaviour came just hours after he issued the grovelling apology in his first public appearance since admitting to sending text messages to five women.

Vernon told listeners that he had made 'foolish decisions.' 'I've disappointed and let down my family and for that I am very sorry,' he added.

Daly was left devastated after it was initially revealed Kay has been sending racy messages to 23-year-old glamour model Rhian Sugden.

But it seems the Page 3 girl has been coping extremely well since news broke.

Rhian, who left little to the imagination in a pair of pink briefs and matching vest, continued to cash in on her new-found fame at a nightclub last night.
Posing happily for pictures, the blonde attended a pyjama party with friends at Entourage in Manchester.

Meanwhile, 'humiliated' Tess has cancelled all of her TV and public appearances next week .
The 40-year-old had been due to appear on BBC, ITV and had been due to do a book signing to promote her new baby diaries.

However a spokeswoman for the star has confirmed that she will be ‘taking some time out’ instead.

Daly is said to be ‘shattered’ after fellow presenter Kay confessed to exchanging lewd text messages with the girls, including a topless model.
‘Tess is still furious with Vern and he has a lot of explaining to do. She hopes that now he has confessed it will be the end of it, but it’s still very painful for her.
‘She has been humiliated by someone she loves dearly and the timing could not be worse.
The mother of two had been booked for The One Show and This Morning next week and was due to sign copies of her book The Baby Diaries: Memories, Milestones and Misadventures at a London show us well as the Baby Show at the ExCel.
But her spokeswoman said today: 'Tess is taking some time out so we've rescheduled her diary. But she will be signing books in due course.'
Kay and Daly have been married for six years and are seen by many to have one of the strongest marriages in showbusiness.
The couple, who live in a sprawling country mansion in Beaconsfield, have two daughters, Phoebe, five, and nine-month-old Amber.
Another four girls came forward to say he had also been ‘sexting’ them as well.
Kay said he had treated the messages as ‘harmless banter’, but now realised his behaviour was not appropriate for a married man.
He has pledged to halt his text habit and to do ‘whatever it takes to resolve the situation’ with his wife.
