Kalaignar in his speech said, "I heard these stories about the legendary twin brothers when I lived in the Kovai region and made it into a book. Later, I thought it would be good to make a movie out of it. After seeing the work done by Thiagarajan, I would like to kiss his hands. And as for Prashanth who has acted so well, I would like to kiss his cheeks."
Vairamuthu was all praise for Prashanth and said, "All the training in various arts such as fencing, horse riding etc. that he took early in life, have all come in handy for this film. He fits the part to perfection, right from his body language, build, looks and moustache. All the Kongu people will surely laud him for bringing the characters to life so well."
